One typical Saturday afternoon in the late summer of 2015, 9-year-old Jacob washed his father’s truck and earned $10 for his hard work. The very next day, eager to make more money, Jacob asked if he could wash the truck again even though it wasn’t dirty. His father smiled and suggested he offer his services to his mom or grandparents instead. And with that small moment of encouragement, Jake’s Amazing Car Wash was born, built on soap, sweat, and a young boy’s determination.

By the spring of 2016, Jacob and his father realized this was more than just a weekend chore. If Jacob was going to keep washing cars, it was time to learn how to run a business. Jacob wrote a letter to MothersUSA, asking to purchase car care products at wholesale. To his surprise, they responded with a sponsorship providing funding and supplies to support his growing venture. Soon after, they formed an LLC, opened a bank account, printed business cards, and set to work. As his skills expanded, so did his services, adding interior cleaning and waxing to his offerings.

In 2017, repeat customers became the norm. Jacob relocated his operations to Campbell Avenue in Yorkville and introduced his first retail product: the “Keep It Clean In Between” Kit all while working only on Sundays.

Fast forward to May 2025: Jacob rebranded his business as Jake’s Auto Detailing and began operating full-time by appointment only.  Jacob is a certified Jade Ceramic Coatings Installer and holds an Auto Detailing Craftsman certification from the Detail King Auto Detailing Training Institute.

Celebrating 10 years in business, Jacob continues to do what he loves, delivering meticulous service with a commitment to excellence. His goal remains the same as it was on that very first day: to exceed his customers’ expectations, one vehicle at a time.
